Metal Halide Ballast

( View Metal Halide Lamps )

Metal Halide Ballasts have become very popular in the last 5 years for many reasons. Not the least of these is the fact that white light is easier on the eyes than the yellow light produced by High Pressure Sodium lamps and ballasts.

Metal Halide Ballasts are needed to drive the metal halide lamps with the proper voltage and the lamp watts must always match the watts produced by the ballast.

We see metal halide lamps used in aquariums, in stores to display merchandise, on commercial buildings and schools and in parking lots to offer a clean secure environment at night time. Certainly, it has behome the light of choice in most countries.

Pulse Start metal halide lamps are operated by a new pulse start ballast and there are many benefits to using this combination. Please see the features and benefits below.

Feature

  • Low 1.5 crest factor and premium lamp wattage regulation

  • Improved lumen maintenance

  • 50% voltage dip withstand

    Benefit

  • •Up to twice the lamp life of a conventional metal halide system for reduced maintenance costs.

  • •Greater consistency in lamp-to-lamp output and color for better quality light.

  • •Minimizes impact of high or low system voltages that may be associated with heavily varying loads, heavily loaded circuits and/or long runs.

  • Fewer fixtures required.

  • Lamps stay lit in applications where larger voltage fluctuations are present.
